This is from a movie that you probably wouldn't expect, but in the first "3Ninjas" movie, the kidnappers are wearing METALLICA shirts and they put up METALLICA stickers in a phone booth they were using. Just thought you'd like to know!

In the movie PCU there are some college students that need to make money so they throw a party but they need to get people, so before the bands starts to warm up someone says "play metallica and they will come" i thought

THE BIG METALLOWSKI
In the movie "The Big Lebowski", Jeff Bridges is lying in bed with Juliane Moore and telling her about his previous jobs. He says he once was a "roadie for Metallica, but he quit cuz they were a bunch of assholes".

In the movie "Collateral Damage", Arnold meets a man (I forget his name) in
Panama who works for the terrorist Arnold is trying to kill. In the first scene

METALLICA, A SIGN OF MATURITY!

On the popular TV show Gilmour Girls, the parents of one of the main characters are in an arguement, and the mother accuses her father, the ex, of being immature because he listens to the Offspring. The father counters back with "Yeah, but you listen to Metallica", prompting the mother to praise Metallica's musicianship. The father then accuses Metallica of recording the same Black Sabbath song over and over again. But hey, what does he know, he's just an immature Offspring fan! ;) ;) ;)

METALLICA FORMS AN ARMY OF DARKNESS
IPOM's very own, precious Graphics Guru, Matt, said this: "I watched the Army of Darkness DVD today and looked at the original theatrical trailer. There are no less than 3 songs from the black album used in the background of the trailer. I'd never noticed that before."

SANITARIUM, LEAVE HIM BE!
"In the movie Say It Ain't So there was a part in the mental institution where this guy wearing a Ride The Lightning t-shirt went fuckin nuts. Also there was a scene where the main character looked exactly like the one and only James Hetfield during the Black Album days."

Thanks to MinusClover84 for this one!

ALL OF US DOWN ON OUR KNEES BEFORE MIGHTY HET
"In the movie 'Any Given Sunday' they mention Metallica. The men are in the locker room and are celebrating a win with music and the only white guys on the team are listening to Motorbreath! Then someone goes over to them and tells them to turn it off and one of the men says something along the lines of 'Metallica rules, Hetfield is god, you shall bow down.'"

NOW, IF WE ALL COULD GET FREE MET CD's...
On the hit soap opera Port Charles, one character was heard saying to another, "Here's a Metallica CD for you..."

Thanks to Lis for this one!

BOREDOM + METALLICA + MURDER = "POPULAR" BELIEF
In a recent epsiode of the televison program Popular, a girl goes to confession, only to be asked by the priest, "Who did you kill?". Somewhat agitated, the girl asks the priest why he would think such a thing of her, to which he said, "Well, you're a bored teenager, bored teenagers listen to Metallica, you do the math..."

Thanks to Bel for this one!

MURDER'S THEIR BITCH
In a recently aired episode of Homicide: Life On the Street, Ain't My Bitch was used as the soundtrack to the background history of the episode's victim, a very talented high school basketball player who was expected to do big things, but is instead murdered by a classmate he picked on (peer abuse). Considering the nature of the episode, and the date of it's airing, (anniversary of the Columbine massacre), perhaps Ronnie might have been more appropriate?

JESUS WAS IN NIRVANA ??!!
A couple nights ago, the game show "Twenty-One" aired the multiple choice question: "What band did the late Kurt Cobain sing for?". Answer posibilities included Sonic Youth, Green Day, Nirvana, and Metallica. No word on whether the contestant was hiding under a rock when Cobain was in Nirvana or not. :)

Thanks to Abhishek for this one!

MAMA AND BABY BEAR GOT WHIPLASH
On yet another episode of the Tonight Show, Ethan Hawke described a lullabye he sings to his daughter as including "two bears headbanging". Jay told Ethan that it "sounds more like Metallica" and it appears Ethan was in agreement!

Thanks to Bel for this one!

SEEK AND DESTROY...THE IRS!
In a recently aired episode of the Simpson's, Otto the bus driver is waiting in line with people who are waiting to file their tax returns. A news reporter attempts to get Otto's opinion on tax day, but only manages to get "Taxes? Whoa! I thought I was in line for Metallica tickets!!" out of him!

Thanks to MetCh1k for this one!

METAL UP YOUR ASS, SHE WROTE
In a UK showing of the ancient U.S. TV show, Murder She Wrote, the episode, which deals with a musician being stalked, features a scene where some loud music is playing. A male character, says, "Sounds like Ted Nugent" to which lead character Jessica replies, "Sounds more like Metallica to me!"

Thanks to Claire for this one!

INSTANT MESSAGE FROM: WINONA_RYDERRR696969
On a recent episode of the Tonight Show, Winona Ryder told Jay Leno about her first time exploits on the Net. She spent time lurking in a Metallica chat room, but a while into it decided to reveal her indentify in hopes of getting feedback on a movie she was working on. (Girl Interrupted, maybe ?). The Metalifreaks present ignored her!

AT LEAST YA HAFTA APPRECIATE HIS ENTHUSIASM!
"There's another episode of Seinfeld in which George and Kramer are trying to sell tickets for an opera and Kramer's screaming in the middle of the street and George says, "What are you doing? This is an opera, not a Metallica concert! A little class, please," or something like that....it was a funny episode anyway..."

Thanks to Bel for this one!

MASTER OF PASSIONS ARE BLOWING OUT YOUR SPEAKERS
Master of Puppets could be heard blaring from the car speakers of Tabitha the witch, a character on the new American soap, "Passion."

Thanks to Erin for this one!

THE "VAMPIRE KILLER" IS UNFORGIVEN, TOO
If you ever watch CourtTV, you're probably familiar with their series, Crime Stories. And maybe you've also seen the episode regarding the murders committed by Rod Farrell, ocassionally known as the "Vampire Killer." Apparently, he's a big Metallica fan, and throughout the episode, he's often shown wearing his logo (old) cap in photos, and the letters written to his mother from death row frequently include writing done in the style of the fishhook logo. At one point in the episode, his mother reads the end of one of his letters... "Gotta go, Unforgiven is on the radio!"

GO AHEAD, ACT LIKE A MANIAC, THRASH ALL AROUND...JUST DON'T LAUGH!
Well I remember once on the game show "Make Me Laugh" on Comedy Central while scanning the crowd for the next "contestant" the annoucer for the show stopped on one guy and said "Look, this guy thinks he's in a Metallica concert". Nothing spectacular but hey, it's something.

Thanks to KtuluCJ77 for this one.

THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON RINGING
There was a second episode of Seinfeld in which Metallica were mentioned. It was the one where Elaine uses a driving service, and she offends the driver by pretending to be deaf so she doesn't have to talk to him. Later, to make up for her rudeness, Elaine sends the driver concert tickets to apologize. When the gang uses the car service again, they end up getting the same driver who is now complaining he can't hear them talking because his ears are ringing. Someone sent him tickets to see a really loud band...Metalli-something! And of course, Kramer adds "ca!"

Thanks to Dawn for this one!

WHISTLING A HAPPY 'TALLICA TUNE
In a comedy special dating back to when the One video was new, Ellen DeGeneres began a joke by telling the audience that one day, she was walking down the street, happy as can be, and whistling the "latest Metallica song"...considering she was probably refering to One itself, the audience had good reason to laugh. ;) Want to hear the joke for yourself? Keep an eye on Comedy Central; they rerun the special constantly!

THE MIGHTY HET AND MISS UNIVERSE...
What's the connection you ask? People who watch Latin American television, and are familiar with "telenovelas" (soap operas), and have sharp eyes have probably noticed a rising trend - allusions to Metallica and metal/rock in general!

One such example is the now defunct show, "Samantha", which featured Venezuela native and former Miss Universe 1996, Alicia Machado (better known to some of you as the Miss Universe who was severely critized for being "overweight"). The show's younger characters are into rock music, and if you looked closely at the bedroom walls of one of those characters, you would have noticed a Justice (or Black?) album era poster featuring a concert shot of James himself! Other posters on the wall included one of the cover of Megadeth's "Rust in Peace" album, as well as a mug shot of Jim Morrison.

WOULD THE REAL JAMES HETFIELD PLEASE STAND UP?!
There's another James Hetfield out there! I discovered him while digging up info on the Revolutionary War for my genealogy research. So, just who is this guy? He was from New Jersey, and though an American, he enlisted in the British Army... consquently, he was arrested and convicted of treason in February of 1779. From the sounds of it, he was kicked out of New Jersey, and all his possessions were to be auctioned off a month later! Ouch!

DON'T TELL MOM ABOUT METALLICA!
In the movie "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead," the adolescent character is wearing a Metallica shirt for a good portion of the movie. Most people wouldn't notice that but I did!

DISTURBING METALLICA!
In the movie "Disturbing Behavior" when the guys explain what type of personality the main characters are, he says that the main character themselves are the heavy metal people and quotes "Harvester of sorrow, language of the mad"... Anyway, it's a nice movie...

Thanks to: Yevgeni

HEY BUTTHEAD: CHECK OUT METALLICA
Beavis, in the popular MTV cartoon "Beavis and Butthead" is wearing a Metallica shirt all the time (nearly all episodes)
